Madison Barracks, Sackets Harbor

The house, which was completed in 1878, was an avant garde statement by John Hose, Watertwon architect, for his clients Mr. and Mrs. Edwin L. Paddock. It was than opened as a museum in 1924

Sackets Harbor Battlefield,
Route 3, Sackets Harbor, NY (State Historic Site)
This battlefield was the site of two attacks on the U.S. during War of 1812 and center of naval and military activity during that war. It is now a visitor center with orientation show and self-guided tours.

Dr. Samuel Guthrie House, Sackets Harbor, NY
Home of the discoverer of chloroform, first used in amputations at Sackets Harbor - and developer of the percussion Cap.
