Save the
Pine Bush - Save the Pine Bush is an all volunteer not-for-profit
citizen's group formed in 1978 to fight for the preservation
of the Capital District's finest treasure, the Albany Pine
Bush. This unique ecosystem, the only pine barrens not located
next to large body of water, is home to the federally endangered
Karner Blue Butterfly. Save the Pine Bush represents the front
line in the battle for Pine Bush preservation. We have an
extensive website that is constantly growing. We have monthly
lasagna dinners in downtown Albany featuring speakers who
cover a wide range of current topics, and we lead regular
hikes and explorations of the Pine Bush.
